The head of a children's military sports center in Novosibirsk was sentenced to three years in prison.

Head of the Alpha Center Danila Shargana was found guilty of torturing children. The court found that from November 2023 to March 2024, during "sports and patriotic activities," Danil Shargan abused underage students at his own center. This included hitting the children on the head. The Novosibirsk resident himself pleaded not guilty. 

From 2004 to 2017, Shargan served in the special forces of the Ministry of Internal Affairs' internal troops. In 2022, he participated in the "SVO" (Svobodnye Voyennoye Voyennoye) and then founded the "Alfa" military sports center. In March 2024, the mother of one of the club's students accused the coach of abusing her 10-year-old son. After a training camp, she picked up the child with a head injury. The coach, however, claimed that the boy "hit his head on a log while carrying it."

In June 2025, the criminal case against Shargan was sent to court. Meanwhile, the SVEO officer continued working with children and even received a letter of thanks from School No. 60 for hosting a military-patriotic game.
