"He could slam his head against a wall, kick someone." Nizhny Novgorod's "Dad of the Year" turned out to be more than he seemed.

The ex-wife of the winner of the "Dad of the Year" competition Evgenia Moiseeva She accused him of systematic beatings and setting fire to her parents' home. A criminal case has been opened against the "super dad," but he denies everything.

"He started abusing me daily, in large quantities. He started beating me in front of the underage children, slamming my head against the wall or kicking me. The younger one would run away and hide, while the older one tried to protect me."- said Olga, to journalists about everyday family life Tatyana Moiseeva. 

After yet another beating, she complained to her parents, who came to pick up their daughter and two grandchildren. The enraged "Father of the Year" smashed the window of their car and then likely set the house on fire. Only the walls remained. 

The annual "Dad of the Year" award was established by the Union of Fathers of Russia, an organization "supporting the institution of the family and traditional family values," as stated on its VKontakte page. The award called upon To highlight the achievements of fathers and demonstrate the importance of their role in raising children and maintaining family traditions. Whether these "values" were intended when awarding the prize is unknown. 

Moiseyev himself boasted in a conversation with a journalist: "I won the 'Dad of the Year, Nizhny Novgorod' competition. This is my second time participating."According to him, he didn’t beat his wife or set the house on fire because he was “dad of the year.”

Moiseyev faces criminal charges for beating his ex-wife and arson. During his divorce from Tatyana, the court failed to determine the children's place of residence, so he took them away from their mother. Tatyana rarely sees her sons.
