"We see that this is Class III hazardous waste—unprocessed cattle manure, fresh. It's dangerous because it contaminates the soil in its 'live' form."- summed up inspection by an ecologist Dmitry Levashov.
A local resident commented more succinctly: "Everything is covered in shit, absolutely everything is polluted.".
Often, agricultural farms that generate profit for their owners do not provide any benefit to the surrounding environment or residents of surrounding villages.
Director of the agricultural company "Iskra" Alexander Skvortsov He explained what was happening: it wasn't waste, but compost, and the "spill" was accidental. He promised to rectify the situation, but didn't specify how.
Residents of communities that have to live next to livestock farms often complain about various problems: unbearable stench, invasion hordes of flies and other inconveniences. Therefore, in the regions, with all their might protest against the construction of livestock farms near residential areas.
