Activist Mikhail Kriger ended his hunger strike in prison after 51 days.

The political prisoner's support group reported good news. The 65-year-old activist's health is still unknown.

Krieger's hunger strike was a form of protest against the conditions of his detention and the systematic punishments he suffered on trumped-up grounds. He was repeatedly placed in solitary confinement, most recently for two days for lying down on his bed at the wrong time.
