"I'm just a cat, don't send me away": A St. Petersburg artist whose work was vandalized has created a new mosaic cat.

Artist Tatyana Tolkushina dedicated the mosaic to the stray cats living in the courtyard. She was inspired by a trip to Zelenogradsk in the Kaliningrad region, where mosaics are integrated into the urban environment. 

After Tatyana wrote about this incident, thousands of people wrote her words of support. Inspired by the warm words, the artist created a new mosaic:

"This little one—he was afraid to take up too much space even on the canvas. He looks up at the person with apprehension, afraid of being driven away. As if to say, 'Human, I will not harm you. I'm just a cat, don't drive me away,'" Tolkushina explained her idea.

This time, she decided to obtain approval for the mosaic from city authorities and sent a request to the administration of St. Petersburg's Moskovsky District, attaching a model of her work. A few days ago, the artist received a notification that the request had been forwarded to the city's Committee for Urban Planning and Architecture (KGA).

In her application, Tatyana also listed several "cat" locations in the Moskovsky District, stating that she would like to create works based on unique sketches in locations where cats live in basements. The artist has not yet received a response from the KGA.
