Catches rodents and pleases the eye

Visiting a co-worker Kronotsky Nature Reserve has come ermine. However, I wasn't able to communicate with him.

"I saw a stoat through the window, and it noticed me too. It stood on its hind legs, looked, and disappeared under the path," the inspector said. Polina Pimenova

A couple of minutes later, Polina went outside and saw a picture that delighted her:

"He's running straight toward me along the path, unafraid of anything, holding a vole in his mouth. It was obvious it was already frozen; he must have pulled it out of his storage area. I immediately pulled out my phone and started filming. He's moving so fast, I couldn't get the shot in focus, but the footage shows how nimble the stoat is."

According to Polina, the stoat protects food from rodents and is simply a joy to behold. However, like all mustelids, it's not averse to sneaking into human dwellings to steal food. Therefore, staff often keep food as high as possible and store it in sturdy containers.
