"Provocations are possible": Teachers from the regions were warned about the illegality of the Labor Rights Lesson.

The Teachers' Union called on educators to hold a nationwide event on January 12. Instead of regular lessons, "Conversations on Important Things," or homeroom hours, teachers were asked to teach children about employees' rights and the role of trade unions.

"These lessons will be our action, addressed to the Ministry of Education and the government. How long can we talk about plans to raise wages and do nothing?" the union declared. "Let this be our warning strike."

Screenshots of messages from teachers' chats are being published by the "Teacher" trade union, the initiator of the protest. Teachers are required to follow approved guidelines when conducting "Conversations on Important Things" on January 12.

“It is necessary to take special control over the conduct of classes during the first lesson,” “There is information about possible provocations,” “Classes must be conducted without fail according to previously approved materials,” warn teachers.

Despite the warnings, a history and social studies teacher from Khabarovsk Vyacheslav Pilnikov.

"There's nothing 'illegal' about conducting this lesson the way you see fit! The RoV website clearly states that the teaching materials are 'advisory in nature.'" — the Teacher trade union reminds.
