Residents of Zelenograd also sent several photos, one of which signed as follows: "Right on the central beach of Zelenogradsk, the Little Mermaid [an art object, a small sculpture] conjured up a burst of amber."
Judging by the photo, local residents are collecting stones by the handful.
A few days earlier, Kaliningrad residents were collecting stones on the Baltic Spit.
"Everyone went hunting. Ours [collected amber], as usual, was the smallest. The guests had more, both in volume and size. There, people collected five kilograms in a couple of hours."- said Olga, then Natalia Razina.
So wandering along Kaliningrad's beaches during the cold season isn't such a useless endeavor.
