After school optimization, children in the Yaroslavl region are learning remotely: there is no school bus service.

In the Uglich district of the Yaroslavl region, schoolchildren have been learning remotely for over a week. The school bus broke down, leaving no one to transport the children to the Klementyevskaya, Ploskinskaya, and Vozdvizhenskaya schools.

Residents of the district reported the situation to the Regional Control Center. Regional Governor Mikhail Evraev demanded an internal investigation and that action be taken against the officials responsible for the lack of transportation.

"All children must go to school. There should be no distance learning," Evraev wrote on his channel.

Residents of the Uglich district write in commentsthat such breakdowns with school buses happen regularly.

"And the children from the neighboring village weren't transported to the Otradnovskaya school in the Uglich district a couple of times due to a lack of gas. The children were also distance learning. What's going on? Aren't there any funds for school bus gas?", "Our driver quit on Monday; his salary is low.", "What a grumpy governor we have. He clapped his hands and stamped his foot. But he's not the one responsible for providing them with spare parts and decent wages.", "How about bringing schools back to the villages? And clinics and clubs too?", "Soon everything will be optimized, and schoolchildren from the villages will have to walk to Uglich."

In 2024, the Yaroslavl region hosted reorganization Schools and kindergartens—as elsewhere in Russia, small rural schools were merged with larger ones. Parents tried to file a lawsuit, but it was rejected. Kindergartens and schools were also merged in the regional capital. protests the residents were not helped.

At the end of last year, authorities planned to optimize art schools and sports clubs in the Uglich district. But then, after outcry, canceled optimization.
