A picket against the mass poisoning of stray dogs will be held in Tomsk.

The picket plans to collect signatures for Vladimir Putin's administration demanding criminal proceedings be instituted in connection with the mass poisoning of dogs.

"We invite deputies, city and regional officials, the Ministry of Internal Affairs and the prosecutor's office," — a local activist announced a picket on February 22 Anton Isakov.

The day before, Tomsk residents recorded a collective video message demanding that the dog killers be found and punished.

"A gang of dog hunters is operating. Dogs die in terrible agony—convulsions, foaming at the mouth, and agony right on the streets in front of people, including children." — stated in the appeal.

At least 15 animal deaths have been recorded since the beginning of 2026. Tomsk residents claim that a prescription drug may have been used for the poisonings. This, they believe, indicates possible violations of pharmaceutical regulations.

"We cannot turn a blind eye to cruelty. Signing this petition is a legitimate way to demand an investigation, a review, and real action. The more of us there are, the harder it will be to ignore the problem." — say the organizers of the signature collection for the Putin administration.
