Poachers from Primorye killed a sleeping mother bear in her den, leaving behind two newborn cubs.

Two orphaned Himalayan cubs were brought to the Tiger Rehabilitation Center. During the time they spent in the den without their mother, the cubs became very cold and lost weight.

"Babies learn to feed from a bottle. It's hard work for them too." "The center's staff share the cubs' progress. Drinking from a bottle is difficult for wild animals, but it's essential for their survival." 

Now, specialists are focused on stabilizing the Himalayan bears' condition and helping them gain weight. Once the cubs are strong and rehabilitated, they will be released back into the wild.

Last week, NeMoskva reported on a month-old bear cub that was found in a village Pirovskoye Krasnoyarsk the edges and brought to the Instinct Wildlife Rehabilitation Center. "A tree was cut down at a logging site, and it fell right on a female bear's den. She jumped out and ran away in panic, crushing two cubs. Only one survived," explained at the center.

But this particular bear won't be able to return to the wild: during rehabilitation, he'll become too accustomed to people and won't acquire the skills he needs. Other, better conditions will be found for him.
