"It won't affect the situation." A criminal case has been opened against a company director in Komi for non-payment of wages.

In Komi excited A criminal case has been opened against Olga Tikhomirova, director of Zheshart Forestry Complex LLC. The company's employees had not been paid in full for over three months, and there were tax and fee arrears. Investigators also believe she concealed approximately 300 million rubles, which could have been used to cover the arrears. Tikhomirova has been placed under a restraining order.

State Duma deputy from the Komi Republic, Oleg Mikhailov, told NeMoskva that this criminal case will not affect the future of the village of Zheshart, the payment of employee debts, or the resumption of operations at the plant. The plant manufactured plywood and MDF boards, and implemented new wood processing technologies. Since March of this year, the plant has been under surveillance, and the entire complex has been idle.

"The situation in Zheshart remains critical; there has been no significant progress in restoring the plant's operations or paying back wages. The investigation should be carried out by the plant's owner. Tikhomirova also managed Salaev's other structures; it's unlikely she was the decision-maker," Mikhailov noted.

He agrees with the village residents that the only way to save the enterprise now is nationalizationWorkers spoke about this at rallies. In total, they collected about 4 signatures in favor of transferring the plant to state ownership. The complex was only transferred to former St. Petersburg Legislative Assembly deputy Alexander Salaev in the summer of 2025.

"This is a strategic enterprise; its sale should have taken into account the government commission's opinion. The Antimonopoly Service confirmed to me in response to my inquiry that such documents were required, but no government commission decision has been issued. Now the owner is bankrupting and destroying the enterprise, and with it the village of Zheshart," says Mikhailov.
