A smart person won't go up a mountain, a smart person will go around a mountain.

Spring has arrived, and complaints about icy roads are coming in from seemingly every region of Russia. Emergency rooms are reporting fractures and bruises, utility workers are saying they're working in "intensified mode," but the ice, as usual, holds on until the very end.

But city dwellers aren't the only ones suffering from snow and ice. In Primorsky Krai, photographer Igor Metelsky captured a wild boar struggling with the ice. At first, he stubbornly charged up the icy slope, his hooves slipping, attempt after attempt, and each time back down. But at some point, the boar decided heroics weren't his style and simply avoided the slippery section.

"The fight against ice has ended in favor of the ice," wrote Metelsky. 

I'm sure everyone has had the same experience as the seaside boar. So, should I force it or go around it?
