The poor-quality sand used to fill the shore in Anapa has ruined the "golden beaches."

A recent storm washed away the shore - now the beach strewn with pieces of clay and stones.

"No matter how hard the task force and scientists try to claim the sand is similar or similar in composition, it's not. Time will tell how 'fuel oil Anapa' will once again become a children's resort and how many years it will take to restore the sand to its former glory," wrote in his Telegram channel, the Kuban ecologist Evgeniy Vitishko.

Previously oiled sand on Anapa beaches started replacing sand from nearby quarries - local authorities assured that it had passed all the inspections.

Another problem is the clumps of palm oil that wash up on the shore near the village of Volna, likely following a spill in February. Volunteers from the "Dolphins" headquarters write that they are "collecting sacks" of the fat. Meanwhile, according to experts, vegetable oils in water can worsen the oxygen regime and harm plankton, shellfish, birds and the coastal zone.
