The command has the right not to dismiss students from the UAV forces one year after the contract is signed.

The Ministry of Defense confirmed that command has the right, but is not obligated, to dismiss students who joined the UAV squad, according to the department's response to a lawyer for the Movement of Conscientious Objectors. To Artem Klyga

The response states that when deciding on dismissal from UAV units, commanders must be guided by subparagraph "b" of paragraph 1 of Presidential Decree No. 580 of August 3, 2023. This paragraph states that dismissal of a service member is the right, not the obligation, of command. In other words, it is a standard military contract.

Students have been recruited into UAV squads since the beginning of this year. They are told the contract is only for one year and are lured with all sorts of bonuses. Krasnoyarsk, for example, to students promised transfer to the budget after the end of the service period, and in Angarsk free service housing.

Klyga had previously warned that the promise to students and those who signed up for the UAV forces under a one-year contract was a lie; he was talking about regular contracts, which are currently open-ended in Russia.

Today, we will conclude a contract with the UAV troops. offer even minors. Minister of Science Falkov demanded from university rectors that at least 2% of students sign contracts with the Ministry of Defense.
