Archaeological sites were destroyed during the construction of the Don-Donbass water pipeline in the Rostov region.

The federal museum-reserve "Tanais" and several other valuable sites were damaged.

"In the necropolis of the Tanais settlement, burials associated with the necropolis have been completely destroyed, and the mounds have been cut away. The graves and ritual objects located within them have been destroyed. The burials located beneath the mounds have been damaged. The cultural layer within the settlements has been destroyed.
