Of these, 36,5 billion rubles were allocated for the construction of the Avangard centers, and another 15 billion for the Voin centers.

The publication "Vot Tak" arrived at these figures based on government statements, regional budget data, information from the government procurement website, and official reports.

A significant portion of school military training in Russia is conducted at the Avangard training and methodological centers. The creation of these centers is funded by regional budgets. Since September 1, 2023, military training has become a mandatory part of the school curriculum for tenth-grade students. Over the course of five days, young men and women master the basics of military training. For eighth-graders, similar training lasts three days.

According to Vot Tak's analysis, the most expensive Avangard center in the chain was the one opened in Patriot Park in Odintsovo. No less than 13,6 billion rubles.

In 2022, Vladimir Putin ordered the creation of another network of military-patriotic centers, "Voin." As of May 2026, its branches operate in 17 regions of Russia. The centers are funded directly from the federal budget.
