In the Irkutsk city of Bodaibo, the consequences of a utility accident have been unresolved for 11 days now, with residents without water.

For the whole BodaiboIn the city of Kosovo, home to over seven thousand people, only three trucks deliver water. Officials have not specified when the water will be safe to drink. Schools and kindergartens in the city remain closed.

Bodaibo was left without water on May 10 due to ice drift and a sharp rise in the water level of the Vitim River. pushed out to the shore, which is why all the equipment was cut off from the water. 

In the first few days, residents had to carry buckets to the stream that runs within the city limits. Later, regional authorities sent five tons of water by plane—and subtracted For this, three million rubles from the Bodaibo budget.

Partial water supply was restored only on May 14, but tap water is still undrinkable. Authorities promised solve the problem by May 21-22 - and, apparently, failed again.

In winter, due to a frozen water main in -40°C temperatures, approximately 1500 residents were left without heat and water. People were without water and heat for over a month. After this, the city's mayor Alexey Botvin was placed in custody as part of a criminal case for abuse of office. And for failing to fulfill his obligations to protect the population in an emergency, he fined by 10 thousand rubles.
