Military style. The final show of the fashion design competition featured military uniforms.

At the competition for emerging designers at the St. Petersburg University of Industrial Technologies and Design, “Breath of Spring,” the designer Dmitriy Smirnov presented The "Spring Call" collection, essentially camouflage suits. The runway appearance wasn't exactly glamorous either—models were smashing each other to the sound of music.

The competition for young fashion designers has been held since 1992. Its stated goal is to "identify, develop, and present human resources for the fashion industry."

Posts with photos and videos of military-style "designs" are filled with disappointed comments like, "Where's the design?" and suggestions that these are costumes from marketplaces.

Instagram user @honekss was outraged, that the "Spring Call" collection was even accepted into the competition's main show. Meanwhile, others, in his opinion more interesting, like "Drama Queen," created from scraps of unwanted fabric, went unnoticed:

"People don't sleep for weeks to get their costumes into the main show, and in the end, the bush uniform wins."

The guy suggests that the jury members skipped this collection before the show because otherwise they would have been accused of being anti-war.

Other collections from this year's "Breath of Spring" were dedicated to nature, history, or national traditions. Incidentally, the "Spring Call" collection didn't win. The winner was the "Onega" collection, inspired by traditions. Arkhangelsk area, Pomor clothing and seafood.
