Lidiya Moniava has resigned as director of the House with a Lighthouse.

Lidiya Moniava has resigned as director of the "House with a Lighthouse" due to a criminal case recently filed against her. She will also resign from the charitable foundation's board. Moniava's friends announced this on her Telegram channel. Lidiya has been banned from using the internet.

"I'll have to step down as director of the Lighthouse and resign from the board. But I believe my colleagues will be able to maintain the hospice's operations without me."-  says in the text of the post.

Moniava promised to organize the hospice's work while under house arrest so that the "House with a Lighthouse" could continue to function without interruption.

Moniava believes she faces 10 years in prison. However, she has no plans to leave the country.

"I understand all the risks. I survived a 6 a.m. search, shivered in a dark cell, walked around in handcuffs, did squats naked in front of FSIN officers, and swayed on a bench in a paddy wagon with a vomit bag. Now I live with an ankle monitor. But it's really important for me to stay in Russia during these difficult times.", her friends reported her words.

Lida presented The charge under Article 207.3, Part 2, Clause "D" of the Russian Criminal Code—"dissemination of fake news about the use of the Armed Forces motivated by political hatred." The charges stemmed from Lida's post on her Telegram channel, written in February 2023, on the anniversary of the start of the war. In it, Moniava wrote: "For a year now, my country has been sending missiles, tanks, and soldiers into Ukraine. For a year now, innocent people have been dying because of this."

During the investigation, the court appointed Moniave prohibits certain actions.
