Vetbiokhim is paying for silence: owners of dogs killed after the Multikan incident are being offered up to 500 rubles.
According to the terms of the settlement agreement that the capital company proposes to sign Vetbiokhim, the owners of the dead dogs must exchange money remove all negative posts addressed to the vaccine manufacturer and do not provide comments to journalists.
“In the event of a violation, the company reserves the right to demand a retraction from the applicant and compensation for damages, including lost profits and reputational losses.” — is stated in the terms of the agreement, which are also prohibited from being disclosed.
According to the owners of the deceased dogs, Vetbiokhim is willing to pay between 300 and 500 rubles. However, the agreement stipulates that there is no direct connection between the animal's death and the administration of the Multikan-8 vaccine.
Among the victims are those who have already agreed to payouts: they are deleting messages criticizing the drug and leaving chats where class action lawsuits against the company were being prepared.
However, there are still those who intend to seek legal proceedings.
“People signed non-disclosure agreements, in every sense of the word, were erased from the face of the earth due to a satisfactory bribe,” indignant one of the victims. — I think it's incredibly unfair to our loyal friends and beloved family members—you can't just take the money and keep quiet."
The first reports of mass deaths of dogs after the introduction of the Multikan-8 rabies vaccine появились in early August. According to preliminary estimates, about 300 animals died.
Following the outbreak of the war and the withdrawal of imported vaccines, Vetbiokhim took a leading position in the Russian market: over four years, the cost of its medications increased two and a half times, and by the end of last year, the company's net profit amounted to almost two billion rubles.
"Multican" was positioned as "a full-fledged and safe replacement for imported analogues that have left the country."
According to Rosselkhoznadzor, the mass death of dogs could have been caused by a violation of the drug's production technology.
