Rotten egg and green paint attacks: Irkutsk residents are asking for the removal of the Z-banner, which is damaging a historic facade.
How to says The Irkutsk Blog Telegram channel's theater community has already sent two anonymous requests to the city administration.
The letter states that the Z-banner appeared on the Drama Theater building in April 2022 and is still occasionally subjected to "bombardments with rotten eggs and green paint." Because of this, both the banner and the façade of the building, built with public donations in the late 19th century and already a "city landmark," have to be cleaned.
"Leaving aside the attitudes of various segments of the population toward the political agenda, I'd like to point out that the theater is beyond politics and is a temple of culture. It shouldn't be a billboard, a political platform, or a target for rotten eggs," the theatergoers' request states.
