Dear friends, our readers, and viewers, it's time to tell you how we work with AI.
For us, as for you, AI is a new world, which we initially explored somewhat tentatively, gradually establishing the rules of operation. Now we've decided to share these rules with you so that everything is transparent and understandable. Just the way we like it.
AI tools have become a part of modern editorial workflows, and NeMoskva is no exception. The editorial team understands the risks of working with AI and uses AI tools thoughtfully and only under human supervision. Responsibility for each published material lies with the journalist and editor—not with a program. We are people working for people, not a program working for search engines and bots.
Responsibility
The journalist and editorial staff are fully responsible for any material prepared using AI.
Structuration
AI is not a source of information. Every fact, quote, and figure obtained with its help is verified by humans.
Transparency
The editors inform readers when AI was involved in content creation, unless it involved routine operations.
Assistance with editing and captioning, audio and video transcription, technical image processing, information retrieval, and automation of routine processes. In all these cases, the final decision is made by a human.
- In a collage or cover, part of the image is generated by AI.
- The material is voiced by a synthesized voice - however, the voice is deliberately artificial and does not imitate a real person.
- Create audio and video that mimics the speech of real people.
- Use generated fact-like photos.
- Change the meaning of authentic audio and video recordings using AI.
- Publish any materials without human control.
Source protection
The editorial team does not share information that could reveal the identity of a source, confidential materials, or personal data that is not publicly available with AI services. Only verified services that are not trained on the data entered are used for this work.
We recognize that AI will evolve, and we believe that communicating with and working with it will require adjustments to the rules we've established for ourselves today. If these rules change, we consider it our duty to inform you of them.
