"A ballast around the city budget": Cheboksary's district administrations have been disbanded.
At a meeting of the Cheboksary City Assembly, deputies unanimously voted to abolish the administrations of the Leninsky, Kalininsky, Moskovsky districts and the Zavolzhsky territorial administration, сообщает Online newspaper "Pravda PFO".
Now, all departments and structures will be merged into the city administration, and the former district heads will become deputy mayors. However, the exact number of employees who will be laid off and how many will be promoted remains unknown.
The Telegram channel "Angry Chuvashia" clarifies that the district administrations remained in Cheboksary Since Soviet times: back then they had their own deputies and their own budgets, but after the reforms of the 90s, only the name remained.
