An LGBT activist managed to recover compensation for insults from homophobic Timur Bulatov.

The court upheld Yekaterinburg LGBT activist Alla Chikinda's lawsuit against St. Petersburg homophobe Timur Bulatov for offensive text messages he sent in 2018. The case lasted over two years, and the court only managed to collect the money four and a half years after the incident. The activist demanded two thousand rubles for each offensive word. Bulatov will have to pay 54,000 rubles.

"In December 2018 and January 2019, the homophobe Bulatov, who has been harassing LGBT activists and feminists for years, sent me and Anya (referring to Anya Plyusnina – editor's note) a slew of text messages that I still remember with pain. We decided to seek justice. Then there were complaints to the prosecutor's office, court cases, and expert examinations. And all this time, I had to constantly think about what happened. And today, it's finally all over, because I received the full monetary compensation." wrote Anna Chikinda on her Telegram channel.

Previously, the court upheld activist Anna Plyusnina's claim and ordered Bulatov to pay 32 rubles for insults.

Timur Bulatov calls himself a "gay fighter," and in St. Petersburg, he's also known as an activist who specializes in combating content he believes offends the feelings of believers. Specifically, according to his complaint excited a case against blogger and model Irina Volkova, who posed semi-nude against the backdrop of St. Isaac's Cathedral.
