"We'll try to buy you some basins." Belgorod residents evacuated from the shelling were housed in dilapidated hotel rooms near Lipetsk.

The displaced persons were placed in a hotel in Yelets, where they were given living conditions complained to the Belgorod governor To Vyacheslav Gladkov.
"When we walked into the room, I just wanted to cry. We were a family of four: two adults and children. The room was dirty, the sofa, if you can call it a sofa, was just awful. The shower was rusty, and there was no TV or refrigerator in the room.", — the Belgorod resident spoke about the problems.
When the women asked where to wash their clothes, they were told: “We will try to buy basins for you." The woman noted that "That half day spent in the hotel was just a nightmare."
The Lipetsk Region's Department of Social Policy attempted to reassure the displaced residents: they hadn't had time to prepare rooms with better living conditions due to the urgency of moving people in. They were promised a shared TV room, as well as leisure activities for children and adults, including excursions, a trampoline center, and Kudykina Mountain.
In the comments, fellow citizens weren't exactly supportive of the displaced persons' outrage. "They were liberated from fascism, and yet they're dissatisfied," "A nightmare is when a shell blows off half your head, not dirty water," "In Russia, many families live their entire lives in such conditions. Welcome to the Russian world," Wrote they.
On the same day, Belgorod woman complained to the Ryazan governor To Pavel Malkov for the lack of any help: "We arrived to visit relatives from Shebekino, penniless, under fire. We turned to social services for help (we had nothing, we fled in what we had), but you only help refugees from Ukraine. It's a shame, everyone says they're helping Shebekino residents, but in reality, it's just empty words.".
Not a single agency responded to her.
