AvtoVAZ representatives told journalists, why German Gref could not to start the new Lada Aura at the presentation of the International Economic Forum in St. Petersburg.

As it turned out, after a previous trip, someone had forgotten to disengage the automatic transmission, which triggered the engine start protection system. The car only started after shifting the automatic transmission into Park.

As Fontanka notes, shortly before German Gref arrived in a new car I was riding Minister of Finance Anton SiluanovHe was able to start the car after the head of Sberbank failed to do so.
