"Expensive transmission..." Summer residents of a Nizhny Novgorod gardening community are protesting against patients from a mental health clinic vacationing nearby.

A dacha in the Kstovsky district has been converted into a recreational space for residents of a residential care facility under the "Social Dacha" program. Under the supervision of volunteers, residents enjoy nature, gardening, and cooking. Other dacha residents didn't like them such a neighborhood.
Chairman SNT "Bezvodnoe" Stanislav Maslov, site owners Elena Leontieva и Alexey Oparishchev They shared their concerns with journalists: they don't know what these guests are up to, and whether they should fear for the lives of their children or the safety of their plots. The summer residents accused their new neighbors of drunkenness, noise, and, once, leaving a fire unextinguished.
"A PNI is a mental health facility, and it's no coincidence that people there are kept under 24-hour supervision. You don't know what to expect from a healthy person, but here, on six hundred square meters, you have people with unknown diagnoses." — Leontyeva said.
It turned out that patients from the residential care facility are sent to the dacha only after a positive medical examination. Galina She showed the drawings and said that she had been taught how to handle money. Guest Sergei peeling potatoes for dinner, he "pulls grass and cleans up everywhere." Project volunteer Andrey Falin showed a clean living space and a study room. The project organizer Maria Metrikina assured that the guests were not dangerous.
"It's fear. The stigma itself that mental health diagnoses are dangerous. I'm willing to listen to some comments, but I'm not willing to stop doing what I do at the behest of some people who are afraid." — she said.
According to the editor-in-chief and host of "By the Way" Alexandra ZudinaMost people have a positive attitude toward the socialization of residents of residential care facilities, but they categorically object to the creation of social housing and dachas next door. And how to resolve this contradiction remains unclear.
