The editor-in-chief of "Novy Focus" has been asked to serve six years in prison.
During the court hearing, the prosecutor's office requested a six-year prison sentence for Mikhail Afanasyev, editor-in-chief of Novyi Fokus. пишет Telegram channel "Network Freedoms".

As a reminder, Mikhail Afanasyev was placed in pretrial detention (https://t.me/Govorit_NeMoskva/241) in April 2022. He is accused of spreading military fakes for publishing an article about Khakassian riot police who refused to fight.
"The investigation revealed the hidden motives behind my crime. The intent was described as 'a negative attitude toward the special military operation,' and the motive was 'a desire to attract increased attention to myself.' That is, military action and the loss of life in my country should inevitably evoke positive emotions in me, the father of five children (the eldest is enlisting in the army in two years). And if something doesn't please me, I should just keep my eyes on the floor and remain silent," писал Mikhail Afanasyev in one of his letters, commenting on his criminal case.
Previously, the founder of the publication “New Focus” – the company “Expert Media” – fined 450 thousand for “inciting hatred” towards law enforcement officials.
