The owners of an illegal chemical dump have been arrested in Ryazan. Attempts to shut it down have been ongoing since 2011.

The owner of the Deevskaya (Turlatovskaya) landfill was also arrested Valeria Deeva, his son Alexey Deev and two more people, сinforms KP-Ryazan, citing a source in law enforcement agencies.
Both executives received lenient pretrial detention measures. Valery Deyev was placed under house arrest, and his son was ordered to sign a travel restriction order.
Valery Deyev has owned the land for many years that formerly housed the Khimvolokno plant's wastewater treatment facilities. Class I–IV hazardous waste, including expired chemicals and fertilizers, was stored there.

The court first "closed" the landfill in 2013, but nothing came of it: it continued to operate, formally changing owners. The last owner of the waste disposal company was Valery Deev's son, Alexey.
In 2019, the owner of a dacha from a nearby SNT Oleg Kabanov published photos of the expanding landfill, sparking a new wave of protests. That same year, the landfill caught fire and was unable to be extinguished for over a week. Kabanov, along with the journalist Irina Pechorina to attract attention уwere building A wedding photo shoot—they posed in fancy dresses and gas masks. The court then again ordered the owner to close the landfill, but it never happened.
Last November, social activist Alexander Sufranovich сsummarizedthat the landfill has grown again.

"The leader and three members of the organized group have been charged with violating regulations for handling environmentally hazardous substances and waste and laundering large amounts of proceeds from the crime. One of the defendants is also charged with aiding and abetting the failure of an employee of a commercial organization to comply with a final court decision.", — the regional Investigative Committee commented.
