Not Herota at all. A river in Sochi was renamed by a court order.

Adler District Court yesterday satisfyl lawsuit Sochi Geographical Society (SGO) on the inclusion of the historical name of Sochi in the state catalog Khorota River, which until now was called Herota.
According to SGO staff, the river changed its name back in 2020, but the change was not included in the state catalog by Rosreestr. To rectify this, SGO Academic Secretary Alvina Valchenko filed a lawsuit in the Adler Court. The court upheld the lawsuit. No one challenged the decision.
However, for now, the river is still called Herota on the information signs, and visitors are happy to take photos with them in the background.
According to the Russian State Military Historical Archive, "On the map of the eastern coast of the Black Sea from the Kuban River to the Kodori River, the Khorota River is indicated at Cape Konstantinovsky."According to the Laboratory of Ethnosocial Problems of the Sochi Research Center of the Russian Academy of Sciences, the river's name, "Khorota," is also clearly visible on maps of the General Staff from the Caucasian War.
there are another opinion: It is unknown what the river was called in the local dialect; when Russian soldiers arrived during the Caucasian War, they named it whatever they heard.
Earlier in the State Duma concerned about the issue renaming of settlements that bear offensive names: Sucker, Slut, Trash CanIt is quite possible that soon there will not be a single village on the map with a name like, BukhalovoHowever, the innovation was not universally supported. For example, Saratov deputies were made against the renaming, stating that they village of Lokh — a regional brand.
