"They decided to rob the people without any shame." The Russian government has once again authorized utility price hikes.

In some regions, tariffs for housing and communal services пroindexed By 4% or 6%, in others by 12% or more. NeMoscow examined which regions were among the "lucky ones," and which will have to shell out a lot of money.

The worst-off regions were Kalmykia (12,2%), Ingushetia (12,4%), North Ossetia (13,7%), Omsk Oblast (14%), and Zabaykalsky Krai (15%). Compared to these economically less prosperous regions, Moscow Oblast is among the "luckiest"—its indexation will be only 11%.

Some were a little luckier. This category included: Khakassia (4%), Chukotka Autonomous Okrug (4,9%), Sakhalin Oblast (6,2%), Jewish Autonomous Oblast (6,3%), Chechen Republic (6,8%), Krasnoyarsk Krai (7%), Orenburg Oblast (7,8%), and Ivanovo Oblast (8,8%).

In other regions, tariffs will increase by 9–11%.

Increasing utility rates is the kind of stability that usually causes outrage among citizens twice a year. Here's how reacted for the next tariff change, for example, in the Voronezh region (there will be a 9,8% increase in July):

"They decided to rob the people without any hesitation," "Doesn't anyone understand that utility workers and the clock tower are birds of a feather?" "To be objective, any increase in tariffs is an indicator of the activity of our leaders."

Tariffs will be raised in the second half of 2024, most likely in July.
