The steamroller has rolled in: Tomsk City Duma Speaker Chingis Akataev will leave his post.

Chingis Akataev will resign early the chairman Tomsk Duma. About it сообщается on the website of the regional branch of United Russia.
NotMoscow wrote that Akataev had previously complained under pressure from security forces.
"Then I started getting threats, and there were text messages saying, 'Leave peacefully, or it'll be a skating rink.' And that skating rink turned on: the tax office has been combing through me for two months, and today the prosecutor's office is again checking my income and expenses."- he said, in particular, at the conference of the regional branch of United Russia.
From the same podium, Akataev spoke about his own contribution to strengthening the United Russia party: thanks to him and “at the request of the governor,” the city council elected the Omsk vice-mayor as mayor of Tomsk. Dmitry Makhinya; independent deputies were deprived of their votes and mandates; and he himself was able to defeat his ally in the fight for the speaker's seat Alexei Navalny Ksenia Fadeeva.
The deflection was not counted and the post could not be maintained.
Judging by the Telegram channels of Akataev's fellow party members, no one has expressed their support for him. The Tomsk City Duma also has not commented on its chairman's resignation.
