Extremists revolt: Yagomik will remain Yagomik

"We are not going to give up our name, - he said. "As for the abbreviation, we haven't used it anywhere for 20 years now, and instead write 'Yakut Museum' as a shorthand. Someone just remembered it in light of the VSEGEI abbreviation change and thought it was funny. This kind of interest is only to our advantage."

Following the recognition of the "LGBT movement" as an extremist organization and the banning of its activities in Russia, the All-Russian Geological Research Institute removed the acronym VSEGEI from its website and is now simply called the "Karpinsky Institute." 

Similar information was released yesterday about YAGOMIK. However, according to Bugayev, the institution's social media channels have used the name "Yakut Museum" from the very beginning.
