"Every day is a struggle to survive": Internet problems in Yakutia for the second day
"Hey, people! Does anyone still remember that Yakutia is a leader in IT, a Far Eastern mecca of digitalization, and that in general, we're a complete mess here?", — the Yakut journalist writes on his Telegram channel R'RёS,R ° F "RёR№ United.
"The North Remembers...", "They're Having a Day Off", "Potemkin Villages", "Tokyo and Taiwan Are Developing with an Eye on Yakutsk", "Not with an eye on Yakutsk, but with an envious look at their backs and a choking feeling", — support social media users.
For over 24 hours now, Yakutia residents have had their messaging apps blocked. Some are also complaining of internet outages. Only a VPN is helping.
«"There's no internet on MTS, absolutely no internet. It's impossible to open a single website," "People pay for connection, not to search for all sorts of VPNs," "I need to go to the post office immediately and send a telegram with smiley faces... Or else my family is probably bored," — the Yakuts discuss.
Meanwhile, journalists from the local Komsomolskaya Pravda newspaper insist the internet is back. At least on mobile. But 45 commenters on the post deny it: "Fake," "No," "Nothing came back, where did you get the info? Did the bureaucrats just give half-assed reports again?"
Officials, however, are concerned about something else. The head of Yakutia Aisen Николаев, for example, boasts that the Russia exhibition is hosting Far East and Arctic Day.
“We, Yakuts, like all Far Easterners, are proud to live and work in the Far East,” — the governor writes.
But the Yakuts themselves do not agree with him: “"I'm fed up, every day is pure survival," "Bring back the connection," "Shame," "Enough already," "No messengers at all! Isn't this discrimination against the people?" they leave comments under posts Nikolaev.
