Things have only gotten worse. What life is like in the Saratov dorm featured in the TV series "Pentagon"
Dormitory in Novouzensk It became known after journalist Andrei Loshak filmed the series "Pentagon" about him. Immediately after the premiere of the Investigative Committee aroused a criminal case on the fact of negligence of officials who turned a blind eye to the emergency building, and local authorities promised put everything in order.
4 months after this, the Pentagon visited Journalists from the Saratov publication "Svobodnye Novosti" (Free News) told them that while repairs had indeed begun, life had only gotten worse.
Because workers were heating the water pipes with a blowtorch, the plastic pipes burst, and the water soaked the freshly applied plaster. The walls were plastered in freezing temperatures and painted while still wet—they could peel off in the spring.
The entrance hall is left without heating, and steam comes out of my breath. The sewer pipes are frozen. The wastewater still flows into the basement, where water stands as high as a man.
The promised entrance door to the building was never installed. Neither was the intercom.
Meanwhile, district authorities intend to sue the former residents, who abandoned their rooms, taking the window frames and doors.
"Let the premises be returned to their original condition, — the head of the administration, Andrei Lomovtsev, told reporters. — Then we will provide these rooms to those who are on the housing waiting list.”
Those currently living in the dormitory are being required by utility workers to dismantle the makeshift water supply and haul buckets of water from the communal kitchen.
The heating issue remains unresolved: people continue to use electric heaters. Utility bills have tripled.
The only positive aspect is the support chat, which Russians from other regions have joined since the premiere, collecting packages and monetary donations. A trip to Moscow was organized for one of the characters with her child, and a trip to St. Petersburg or Sochi is being offered for the summer.
