The ban on roach fishing will be lifted on April 20, as the region anticipates an influx of tourists and recreational fishermen. The lifting of the ban does not mean that catching and exporting fish in any quantity is permitted; catch restrictions remain in place.
"To date, 85 raids have been conducted, and 414 violations have been identified. A large volume of fish has been seized and is scheduled for disposal. I believe an exception should be made and it should be sent for processing, and then sent to our guys on the front lines. I have instructed them to look into this matter." - Babushkin reported.
He called the vobla a regional treasure that must be preserved by all means necessary. He promised to punish violators "to the fullest extent."
