A traffic police post was shot at in Karachay-Cherkessia, with fatalities and injuries reported.
Late in the evening of April 28 in the village of Mara Ayagy, Karachayevsky district, Karachay-Cherkessia happened An armed attack on a traffic police unit occurred, the press service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for the Karachay-Cherkess Republic reported.
A group of armed men threw an explosive device at police officers and opened fire with automatic weapons. Police officers returned fire, and the explosive device detonated on one of the attackers.
Two police officers were killed, three more police officers and one National Guard officer were injured. Five of the attackers were killed instantly.
Killed militants identified as alleged participants in the attack on police officers on April 22 in Karachayevsk, when a group of people opened fire on police officers and then stole their service weapons.
