Simply out of this world! Lilacs planted by Tsiolkovsky have bloomed in Kaluga.

It grew throughout the courtyard of the House-Museum, where the scientist lived for almost 30 years.
"Lilacs have blossomed in the courtyard of K.E. Tsiolkovsky's house. And not ordinary ones, but ones planted by the scientist himself long ago." told staff on the page of the "Museum of the History of Cosmonautics in Kaluga".
More detailed storyaz employees sounds like this: "One day, Tsiolkovsky brought a lilac bush from some friends and planted it in the center of the garden. Over many decades, that same bush, located in the center of the garden, grew luxuriantly. It became the 'elder' among the lilac bushes planted much later."

Lilacs are cared for: old, dead branches are cut out annually, making room for young shoots.
Last year, a young lilac sapling from the Yuri Gagarin School Days House-Museum was planted in the same courtyard. Now the lilacs in the House-Museum will be entirely "space-themed."
