He went through camps and exile to dance the lovzar at his grandson's wedding at the age of 98.
The Ingush portal "Fortanga" publishes a video in which a well-known elder from Karabulak Sirazhudin Pogorov performed by Lovzar at the grandson's wedding, and a story about his fate.
In 1944, Pogorov, along with other Ingush, was deported to Kazakhstan. There, he received an 11-year prison sentence for stealing 20 kg of wheat for a starving family.
When the Ingush were allowed to return to their homeland, Pogorov's house was already occupied by other people. He and his wife were forced to sleep on the ground, and their young daughter died of exposure in her cradle. Several decades later, he was able to buy his own house from the new owners, but in 1992, during the Ossetian-Ingush conflict, he and other Ingush were expelled from the Prigorodny district.
Son of Sirazhudin Akhmed Pogorov — former Minister of Internal Affairs of Ingushetia, co-chairman of the Ingush National Congress — is under investigation for the so-called Ingush caseMemorial recognized him as a political prisoner.
Lovzar is a traditional wedding dance among some Caucasian peoples.
