Elks, hares and a pood of salt
The Kologrivsky Forest Nature Reserve decided to combine what's pleasant for them with what's beneficial for the animals: organized salt licks for animals, and camera traps were set up nearby.
Indulge in something salty three moose came — all males. Two of them showed interest in the salt, and the third, the oldest, studied the surroundings for a long time, sniffing and listening—and left empty-handed.
The hares came galloping - they, like all vegetarians, also lack minerals.
"Salt replenishes micronutrient deficiencies in the body and boosts immunity, especially during the breeding season and when feeding offspring," explained the reserve's specialists.
