"Ultra-modern House of Allah": An unusual mosque has opened in Tatarstan.

В Almetyevsk The main mosque reopened after reconstruction—this is what it looks like now. The golden-domed dome is gone, and the crescent moons on the minarets are no longer on the outside, but hidden inside the towers.

The building houses a prayer hall, a library, an ablution hall, a nikah and naming hall, a museum, a children's playroom, and a recreation area. The mosque also has a community meeting hall, a national restaurant, and a halal store.

The mosque can accommodate up to 1,2 thousand believers, larger in Tatarstan only Kul Sharif в KazanThe height of the large minaret is 52,5 m.

The design was developed by the Moscow workshop "Arkanika." The specialists said they visited mosques in Turkey, Morocco, Egypt, UzbekistanAccording to them, Islam has no strict canon, so "the project team's imagination was practically unconstrained."

The work was financed by Tatneft. The cost was not disclosed. We don't consider this a cost; we consider it an investment. Investments in culture are something that will always pay off." сказал General director Nail Maganov

Residents' opinions on the new mosque are divided. Some are delighted, believing that modernist religious buildings spark interest in religion. Others are outraged that, instead of classic minarets, there are "pipes" or "needles with eyelets for thread." Still others believe that the mosques should be replaced by ultra-modern scientific or medical centers.
