"Urgent! Because many simply won't survive." Dmitry Muratov called for the exchange of Russian political prisoners.

Nobel laureate, co-founder of Novaya Gazeta Dmitry Muratov released after a long break video message, in which he spoke out on the topic of political repression in Russia.

He told the stories of political prisoners who are effectively being held in torture-like conditions and whose lives are in danger.

"Let's start exchanging civilian political prisoners. This needs to be done urgently, because many of them simply won't survive.""Muratov addressed foreign leaders. He proposed an exchange for supporters of the "Russian world."

According to Muratov, Russia has transitioned to open terrorism. Here are some quotes from the video:

"The more cruelty a person displays, the more they now consider themselves a patriot. Cruelty has become synonymous with the word 'patriotism.'"

"These freaks [informers] are terrorizing the entire country, and the courts are considering denunciations because if you don't consider a denunciation, they'll report it to you. The constitution no longer applies to those who oppose the fighting. Is this a coup d'état without a change of power?"

"Slaughterers, that's what they are. In the name of the Motherland, they kill, torture, and abuse. Let them then create their own party, 'Slaughterers of Russia for the Motherland.'"

"They're inventing a state where the cult of death and hatred of talent as a source of freedom flourish. <> And they've enlisted the church in this. We still have priests, Christ is gone. We'll learn his fate some Friday, when the Ministry of Justice updates its list of foreign agents. The church, following in the footsteps of the butchers, has glorified death."

“I know for sure that fascism will not pass through my country <> But how many more lives can it ruin?”

"Not the slightest moral justification for villainy. Perhaps that's all we can do. Never nod our heads at the words 'it's not that simple.'"
