"Today my world collapsed." The "Teplo" art space in Yaroslavl has closed.

The management company sealed the door to the basement of the Teplo art space. on Sovetskaya Street, 2AThere were exhibitions and literary readings there, and a performance was supposed to take place, but now everything has been cancelled.

"Today my world collapsed. The world where all my friends were was called 'Warmth,' and it's over." wrote site organizer Natalia Vyatkina.

The management company stated that the premises were sealed on orders from the prosecutor's office. Vyatkina commented on the situation to NeMoskva:

In theory, I should have received a notice of some violations, an order to correct them. None of that happened. Previously, several commissions had been sent to us, and they'd found minor violations. But here, they not only sealed our building, but also cut off the locks. We were just having an exhibition by artist Elena Safonova, and it turns out that someone else's property was there. We don't understand what's going on; for now, we only suspect that the prosecutor's office was influenced by our neighbor, who's been fighting us.

House on Sovetskaya - old, with a rich history. In the early 2000s, Vyatkina and her associates decided to open an art space in an empty basement and secured their approval at a residents' meeting. At their own expense, they drained the basement, laid the floors, and renovated it. The space opened in 2013. During the renovation and for some time, after opening No one had any complaints, but then the tenant of the building started writing complaints.

Allegedly, we had arbitrarily taken away common property. And once, during a meeting, she openly told me that I should pay her for using it. Absurd demands, — concluded Vyatkina.

Residents of Yaroslavl outraged situation: "Teplo" is an integral part of Yaroslavl's soul," "Everything is turning into a fucking Gulag, where nothing exists and nothing is possible," "It's incredibly sad! Someone has their eye on it.".

Organizers decide, what can be done from a legal point of view.
