Filya learned, Filya flew away

A touching story about an owlet and a sixth-grader told Officials from the Penza Ministry of Forestry.

A young girl took in a long-eared owl chick that seemed doomed to die. She named him Filya and nursed him back to health with her parents for several months, feeding him raw meat and worms and caring for him until he was fully recovered.

And then a difficult decision was made: Filya was released.

The most interesting thing happened next: a few days later he returned home. Along with his passion.

Having determined that all was well, the young ones set course south: long-eared owls prefer to spend the winter in North Africa or the Tien Shan Mountains.

Sixth-graders spend the winter mostly doing homework.
