"My father died, but I have an apartment." The governor of Primorsky Krai called for providing apartments to the children of fallen participants in the war in Ukraine—in his opinion, this will make them patriots.

"We're somewhat skewed—we've all become obsessed with asocial families: both depriving them of rights and providing housing to orphans. But the children of SVO participants aren't included in the category of orphans who receive federal housing funds. <…> Yes, there are military mortgages, but we're talking about children. We need the child to understand: yes, my father accomplished a heroic deed and died, but thanks to his heroism, I have an apartment and I live. This makes children patriotic."- quote Local media reported on Oleg Kozhemyako's speech at the opening of the forum "Family First: An Effective System for Preventing Social Orphanhood."

"Unfortunately, when a father dies or becomes disabled, the mother experiences a difficult emotional state, so at that moment they really need support, and what we do must also extend to the families of special military operation participants."-  agreed Children's Ombudsman of the Russian Federation Maria Lvova-Belova, who was also present at the opening of the forum.

Earlier in Primorsky Krai already was accepted A regional law stipulating that children of deceased SVO members must be provided with apartments, including those born after their father's death.
