Some schools in Buryatia will teach all subjects in their native language. They'll also teach Buryat. Yandex Translate

The head of the republic announced this on his Telegram channel. Alexey TsydenovHe also announced that, to begin with, four first-grade textbooks will be translated into Buryat: mathematics, environmental studies, technology, and music. 

"We will gradually expand the Buryat language to all primary and secondary school subjects over the next few years. At the same time, we will begin retraining and professional development for the teachers who will teach these subjects.", Tsydenov wrote.

The Belig Center for National Language Learning also plans to open an online Buryat language school and a department for the development of educational and methodological materials (EMM) and digitalization of learning. The department will create educational games and programs, interactive courses and audio applications, and digital educational resources.

Furthermore, Belig has already begun compiling a Buryat language corpus for inclusion in Yandex Translate. To teach the artificial intelligence the Buryat language, specialists must feed Yandex a million pairs of sentences.
