To the Yakut deputy Nyurguyana Zamorshchikova A member of the New People party, who had previously proposed abolishing dog shelters, had to explain her comments about killing stray dogs. She had previously stated that stray dogs should be treated as they are in the villages—killed. The deputy said she supports law enforcement, but there's no money for it in Yakutia.

"As an ordinary resident and a member of parliament, I shared an example of how residents in Yakutia's villages solved this problem in the past. But that doesn't mean we should act like the old days. I'm all for upholding the law. <…> In our remote villages, we don't have the capacity to fully implement 'Burmatov's Law.' We don't have the funds for shelters, and there's no requirement to register dogs—they just wander freely. Burmatov himself admitted this. Why weren't we given the opportunity to meet with him? Why didn't he go to Chulman to look into the eyes of the parents of the dead child?"   приводит words of the deputy, the publication "Sakhaday.ru».

The deputy added that she was simply calling for the issue of stray dogs to be addressed before more victims are claimed: Yakut parents are forced to send their children to school by taxi or drive them to school.

«УI am confident that together we will find the right solution to protect people from stray animals.", added Nyurguyana Zamorshchikova.
