"Let's catch our breath and move on to fight for our country and freedom": A Tver court dismissed a criminal case against a father of five for anti-war posts.

Consideration of the criminal case on “repeated discrediting of the army” against Sergei Neverov stopped the day before due to the expiration of the statute of limitations, сообщил Tver resident to 7x7 journalists.

"My battle with the system lasted two years and six months! And today it's over! P.S. Well, it's over... let's catch our breath and move on to the fight for our country and freedom."", the activist wrote on his Telegram channel.

The case against Neverov was opened in the fall of 2022 for reposting a video about mobilization with the title "Why and for whom are you going to fight and die?" and a post about the surrender of Kherson. Last May, masked security forces broke down the door to Neverov's apartment and searched it. As a preventive measure, the activist was banned from certain activities. The trial was held behind closed doors, allegedly due to a planned provocation by Neverov's supporters.

The Tver resident himself linked the persecution to his activism: he fought against the construction of a high-speed railway, defended the institution of local self-government, supported independent candidates, and planned to participate in the city council elections.
