"They did it all quietly." A children's music school in Kostroma suddenly closed.

Music School No. 1 named after Ippolitov-Ivanov worked in the building on Simanovsky Street with 1963 yearsThe school itself has existed in Kostroma since the 18th century.

"Closed without explanation. Parents were simply informed that classes were suspended. There will be no classes from November 5, 2024, and we'll be staying home. It's unclear how we'll prepare for competitions and performances." said Olga, mother of a child studying there.

Other parents of music school students say that teachers are looking for spaces for classes themselves—some are even organizing house concerts because the situation is desperate.

Parents in the comments clarified: "They did it all quietly, without explanation. Children and parents are baffled. Distance learning for a music school... I've never heard such nonsense.".

They also report that “children have been pulled out of the educational process and are being shoved into different schools.”

Two years earlier from this building evicted Music College. Now the parents suspect that someone wants the entire historic building—probably for a hotel.

The day before in Nizhny Novgorod in the village of Sovkhozny closed DK. Now the pensioners' choir is rehearsing outside, and the authorities are promising to "come up with something."
